  INTRODUCTION TO VIRTUAL REALITY

                                              What is Virtual reality?

  • Virtual Reality (VR): is defined as the use of computer-generated 3-D, Known as virtual environment. When users can navigate and interact with senses like real-time in imaginary real-world experiences from home confort.

                                       The History of Virtual reality

  • First Time use of the term virtual reality by Jaron Lainer in 1987. VR started through  VPL research by Jaron Lainer's company, which played a big role in developing this technology. (Pinto.,2021)

  •        Advantages of VR :

                                   Educational purposes For example:

  •                                immersive learning experience .
  •                                 increase learning motivation.

                                    Medical applications For Example:

  •                            Pain management (Saab et al., 2021)
  •                                        patient education .
  •                                  enhanced medical training.

                                           Entertainment and gaming

  •                                 More interactivity and engagement.
  •                                    Innovating gaming experiences.
  •                                       Revolutionising live events.
  •  (According to Stastista.com VR users in the UK are expected to Reach 57.5 million by 2029).

  •         Disadvantages of VR :

             Technological Limitations For Example:

  •                     VR systems latency and delays.(Al zaher.,Folmer,2019)
  •                                        Limited field of vision.

                                      High Costs For Example :

  •                             High expenses of VR equipments.
  •                                Content development High costs.

                                                Health Risks :

  •                 Eys Strain and Headaches.(Greaga.,et al,2021)
  •                              Neurological health concerns.
  •                                     radiation exposure.

To conclude, Virtual Reality is an immersive developing technology that combines knowledge from many technology fields, making it a fascinating topic to read and research about.

My part of the presentation was to search for Virtual reality technology definition and its advantages and disadvantages, from my research on Google Scholar about what is Virtual Reality in detail from finding academic journals to get a definition and the history of this topic which I found interesting and that helped me in the research process also i discovered to pros and cons of  Virtual Reality, In addition. My teammates Nancy and Mandip through the creation of the Gantt chart with Excel in our first meetings we created deadlines for research this technique helped us team to research this topic and finish our presentation in an organised way in results finishing our assessment in time without stress.

As a result, i Learned how to Create a Gantt chart with Excel and how to cite my references online from Cite This For Me website also learned to choose my sources critically to create good content
